Huangpu Wenchong starts construction of a 1500TEU container ship for COSMOSHIP

On the morning of February 21, the 1500TEU container ship H2416, undertaken by China Shipbuilding Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for the Greek COSMOSHIP company, was successfully launched at the Wenchong factory's hull workshop. Representatives from the ship owner, classification society, and shipyard attended the launch ceremony.

This ship is the first ship launched at the Wenchong factory after the Spring Festival. To ensure the smooth launch of this ship, all departments have made sufficient preparations for production. To ensure continuous construction after the Spring Festival, it was required that plates and profiles arrive completely before the Spring Festival. Although there were minor setbacks during the process, through close communication and coordination between the materials department and the manufacturers, the materials arrived completely, achieving good results, with 99% completeness at the time of launch, providing maximum assurance for continuous cutting.

It is understood that the Wenchong factory has a heavy task of cutting and processing in the first quarter, facing the launch of two ships and the cutting and processing of three internal cooperation products' upper building sections, one of which spans the Spring Festival. To reduce the impact of holidays on production and ensure that nodes and tasks are completed on schedule, the manufacturing department has made great efforts in production preparation: thinking ahead, acting ahead, advancing the cutting and processing nodes originally scheduled for the Spring Festival, and accelerating the completion of production tasks, comprehensively balancing, reasonably controlling, and adjusting internal production plans. Overtime work was arranged during the Spring Festival to catch up on materials and ensure nodes, with internal active organization and mobilization for two days of overtime before the festival and three days after the festival, effectively ensuring the completion of all production tasks. To balance the problem of delayed delivery of internal cooperation products, the cutting was advanced with foresight, effectively avoiding conflicts affecting the project construction plan.
