Hyundai Heavy Industries wins order for one LNG carrier

It is reported that Hyundai Heavy Industries of Korea has received an order for one 162000m³ class LNG carrier from Oman Shipping Company, an Omani state-owned enterprise.

　　The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2014. Oman Shipping already owns 5 LNG carriers and has also ordered 5 Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) from Hyundai Heavy Industries, of which 3 have been received and 2 are currently under construction.

　　Additionally, last month Hyundai Heavy Industries received orders for two 162000m³ class LNG carriers from European shipowners, and one 170000m³ class LNG-FSRU order from Norway's Hoegh LNG. Furthermore, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries received orders for two 162000m³ class LNG carriers from Golar LNG.
