Usage standards and scrapping criteria for hoisting machine wire ropes

1. The wire rope on the reel should be arranged neatly. If overlapping or skewed winding is found, the machine should be stopped and rearranged. It is strictly forbidden to pull or step on the wire rope with hands or feet while it is rotating. The wire rope must not be fully released; at least three turns should be retained.
2. The wire rope must not be knotted or twisted. If more than 10% of the wire rope breaks within one pitch, it should be replaced.
3. During operation, no one shall cross the wire rope. After the object is lifted, the operator must not leave the winch. When resting, the object or cage should be lowered to the ground.
4. During operation, the driver and signaler must maintain good visibility of the lifted object. The driver and signaler should cooperate closely and follow the unified command of the signals.
5. In case of power failure during operation, the power should be cut off, and the lifted object should be lowered to the ground.
6. During work, follow the signals of the commander. If the signal is unclear or may cause an accident, the operation should be suspended until the situation is clarified before continuing.
7. In case of sudden power failure during operation, immediately pull the breaker and lower the transported object.
8. After the operation is completed, the tray should be placed on the ground, and the electrical box should be locked.
9. During the use of wire ropes, wear and tear from friction with machinery, self-ignition, corrosion, and local damage are inevitable. Protective oil should be applied at intervals.
10. Overloading is strictly prohibited, i.e., exceeding the maximum load capacity.
11. During use, pay attention to avoid knotting, flattening, arc burns, and chemical corrosion.
12. Do not directly lift high-temperature objects. Protective plates should be added for objects with sharp corners.
13. During use, the wire rope should be checked frequently. If it reaches the scrapping standard, it should be scrapped immediately.
a. Diameter reduction
If the diameter wear exceeds 40%, it should be scrapped; if it does not exceed 40%, it should be used with a reduced coefficient.
b. Surface corrosion;
When the surface corrosion of the entire wire rope is clearly visible to the naked eye, the wire rope cannot be used.
c. Structural damage;
Wire ropes with broken strands should be scrapped; wire ropes with broken wires should be used with a reduced coefficient.
d. Overload;
Overloaded wire ropes must not be used.
