Transformation of China's shipbuilding industry is imminent; developing deep-sea technologies is the trend

Recent new ship order data shows that more than half of Chinese shipbuilding companies are facing a market slump with "zero orders." In contrast, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and other countries have transformed into technologically advanced shipbuilding nations over the past few years, occupying a leading position in the fiercely competitive international market through the development of complex vessels.
At the recently held 17th China International Maritime Exhibition in Shanghai, exhibitors from 34 countries and regions showcased the most cutting-edge technologies in the industry. One of the biggest highlights was that GE of the United States, a leading global company in aviation and ground transportation, announced its entry into the maritime market and will make helping the Chinese shipbuilding industry increase added value a key corporate strategy. This coincides with recent landmark policy directions from the central government, such as "improving marine construction" and the Ministry of Transport's proposal to "elevate the shipping industry to a national strategy." It can be said that the Chinese shipbuilding industry is facing a crucial turning point in its strategic transformation. Are domestic shipyards ready technologically? Let's wait and see.
