Over the next 20 years, global deliveries of 100- to 149-seat civil aircraft are projected to exceed 7,000, with China accounting for approximately 1,400 deliveries. Bombardier aims to achieve 50% market share through a "bundled" sales partnership with COMAC. According to Bombardier's market analysis, the 100- to 149-seat category fills the gap between Boeing and Airbus' large commercial aircraft and regional jets. Many Chinese airlines are currently evaluating this type of aircraft to replace older models.
In October of this year, China Minsheng Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Bombardier for 30 C-Series aircraft in this seating capacity, with 15 firm orders and 15 options, totaling approximately $2.07 billion. COMAC's C919 aircraft, currently under development, primarily targets the large aircraft market of 150 seats and above, complementing Bombardier's 100- to 149-seat C-Series aircraft. The joint cooperation committee of both parties was officially established in November last year, outlining various cooperation plans, including suppliers, technical publications, customer support platforms, after-sales service, and joint sales.
