Ouhua Shipbuilding wins order for four handysize bulk carriers

On November 22, Ou Hua Shipbuilding received an order for four 39,000-ton B.Delta37 bulk carriers from Swire Shipping. Delivery of the new vessels is scheduled to begin in 2016.

It is understood that, as of now, 53 B.Delta37 vessels have been ordered by ship owners worldwide and are being built at five different Chinese shipyards.

Separately, on October 11, Ou Hua Shipbuilding received an order for four 39,000 DWT B.Delta37 handysize bulk carriers from Swire Shipping. Previously, Ou Hua Shipbuilding also received an order for eight 31,000 DWT "S-class" multipurpose vessels from Swire Shipping, with delivery scheduled for 2013-2014; the two parties also signed a contract for the construction of four 22,000 DWT "Executive-class" multipurpose vessels, scheduled for delivery in 2015.

In addition, before ordering the B.Delta37 39,000-ton bulk carriers from Ou Hua Shipbuilding, Swire Shipping ordered 16 B.Delta37 39,000-ton bulk carriers from China Shipbuilding Corporation's Chengxi shipyard.
