Ancient Shipping orders 39,000-ton bulk carrier

Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has received an order for 4 "B. Delta37" design 39000 DWT bulk carriers from Swire Bulk.

Swire Bulk stated that it recently ordered 4 eco-friendly bulk carriers from CSSC Chengxi Shipyard Co., Ltd., and subsequently placed another order for the same type of bulk carriers with Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding.

Including the bulk carriers ordered this time, Swire Bulk has a total of 20 Deltamarin-designed bulk carriers under construction, 16 of which were awarded to CSSC Chengxi.

The newbuilding price for these 4 new bulk carriers was not disclosed; previously, the 12 vessels signed with CSSC Chengxi were approximately US$23 million per vessel.

Swire Bulk will operate these 20 bulk carriers.

Additionally, through this contract, Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding can continue to maintain its partnership with Swire Bulk.

It had previously received orders for 8 x 31,000 DWT "S Class" multi-purpose vessels from Swire Bulk. After delivering 4 this year, the remaining 4 bulk carriers are also scheduled for delivery next year. It also received orders for 4 x 22,000 DWT "Chief Class" multi-purpose vessels, delivered in 2015.
