On September 16, Wuzhou Shipbuilding Company and Shanghai Zhonggu Xinliang Group Co., Ltd. signed a contract in Shanghai for the construction of six 40,000-ton container ships.
The ship has an overall length of 179.90 meters, a molded breadth of 32.18 meters, a molded depth of 16 meters, a design draft of 9.50 meters, and a structural draft of 10.70 meters. The ship design meets the requirements of new specifications and is a dedicated container ship suitable for domestic coastal transportation that is energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.
This is another breakthrough in orders for the company following the acquisition of two 110-meter barge-carrying vessels in July of this year. Since the beginning of this year, the company has achieved eight shipbuilding orders within months through internal management improvements and external market competition. More than 10 shipbuilding intent orders are currently under negotiation. The proportion of market orders for the company is gradually increasing, and the production tasks of existing orders can meet the production needs for two to three years. The company's market-oriented transformation is steadily progressing.
