Hyproc, a subsidiary of Algeria's state-owned oil and gas company Sonatrach in the shipping sector, is likely to hold discussions with South Korean shipyards as early as the end of this month regarding bids for new LNG carrier construction projects.

According to TradeWinds, the company is about to hold Clarification Meetings with the three major South Korean shipyards (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries) for the new LNG carrier project and is willing to complete the project by the end of the year.

Additionally, it is not yet certain whether Japanese companies like Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and China's Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group are still included as candidate companies for this project.

Hyproc is willing to build vessels of 155-170K CBM class, requesting a delivery period from late 2015 to 2016.
