On July 18, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International and Heng Hou Group successfully signed a contract for the construction of two 250,000-ton ore carriers. The contract came into effect upon signature.

This signing represents a follow-up order for Guangzhou Shipbuilding International's 250,000-ton ore carriers, which will have a positive impact on the company's production volume of this type of vessel. Against the backdrop of the current sluggish market, the successful undertaking of this batch of large-scale vessel orders has, on the one hand, expanded Guangzhou Shipbuilding International's market recognition and influence, and on the other hand, is of great significance for giving full play to its production capacity advantages and ensuring continuous production.

In addition, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International received an order for 2+2 250,000-ton ore carriers from BERGEBULK in late May, which will be built at Longxue Shipyard and are expected to be delivered in 2014 and 2015.
