Focal Marine secures AHTS design order

Focal Marine & Offshore, a Singapore and Shanghai joint venture OSV design company, has received an order for eight 65-meter AHTS (FOCAL 680) designs from Guangdong Yuexin Marine Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. (Yuexin Hai Gong for short).
These AHTS vessels are being built for Yuexin Hai Gong based on orders received from PT Wintermar and Martens Marine. Delivery of this series is expected in late 2014 or early 2015.
The FOCAL 680 AHTS design features 6000 horsepower, 80-ton bollard pull, 435 square meters of deck space, and accommodates 50 people. It is capable of supplying fuel, edible oil, fresh water, saltwater, and dry bulk cargo to various multi-purpose cargo ships. In addition to anchoring and supply functions, the vessel also has oil spill recovery capabilities and no flash point restrictions.
This series of vessels is designed to meet the latest international regulations, including SPS 2008 and MLC 2006.
It is understood that over the past few years, Focal Marine & Offshore has designed AHTS vessels including 62m/65t, 62m/65t, 62m/65t, 65m/60t, 70m/100t, 73m/125t, 76m/150t, and 85m/210t series AHTS, with over 30 vessels already completed and delivered, operating for oil companies worldwide.
In addition, Guangdong Yuexin Marine Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. was formerly Guangzhou Panyu Yuexin Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. In 2012, Yuexin was reorganized into Yuexin Hai Gong, carrying the dreams of Yuexin people towards a wider ocean, opening a new and brilliant chapter.
