Entering the fourth quarter, China State Shipbuilding Corporation's Dalian Shipbuilding has intensified efforts toward its annual targets, accelerating all project construction to sound the charge for a strong finish with tangible achievements.

On October 10, the shipyard successfully completed the launch of the bow section and the docking of two major sections for VLCC No. 130—a 300,000-ton vessel built for CIDO SHIPPING (H.K.) CO., LTD. This operation was completed 20 days ahead of schedule and marked the first simultaneous flooding of both 2-1 and 2-2 dry docks, effectively shortening the construction cycle and significantly improving the efficiency of the two-section docking process.

On October 10, Dalian Shipbuilding's Changxing Shipyard successfully completed repairs on the “Fors” vessel. This project marked the first successful application of electrostatic spraying technology, with 16,000 square meters of organic silicon coating applied to the hull. The work was completed in just two days, meeting both the shipowner's specifications and industry standards, achieving dual improvements in construction efficiency and green ship repair technology.

Electrostatic spraying represents an innovative technique in ship hull painting, utilizing the principle of corona discharge to electrically charge coatings with negative ions. These charged particles are precisely attracted to the positively charged hull surface, forming a uniform and dense coating. This technology significantly reduces paint mist generation, effectively lowering PM2.5 concentrations and improving the working environment. Paint utilization increases by over 30%, saving 15%–30% in coating materials. Simultaneously, it substantially reduces VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions and hazardous waste disposal costs, delivering both environmental and economic benefits.

On October 10, the 15th LNG dual-fuel 16,000 TEU container ship built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group's Tianjin Shipyard for Mediterranean Shipping Company commenced sea trials. This sea trial program aims to complete dozens of core system tests, including main engine running-in, speed measurement, maneuverability testing, and unmanned engine room verification. The trial team will strictly adhere to the test outline, rigorously and meticulously inspecting all vessel performance and system reliability to ensure the accuracy and validity of all test data. This will provide a solid foundation for subsequent optimization, debugging, and smooth delivery of the vessel.
