Key Project Site

The Marine Engineering Equipment Technology Industrialization Project, invested by Nantong Liwei Machinery Co., Ltd. with 500 million yuan, covers an additional 18.14 mu of land with a total construction area of 15,000 square meters. The main construction is currently being expedited, with full completion expected in the first quarter of next year. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 60 units (sets) of marine platform and ship deck machinery, as well as deep-sea polar exploration and development deployment systems. The project aims to generate an additional 300 million yuan in taxable sales and 13.5 million yuan in tax revenue annually. Its core technologies are poised to break foreign monopolies and achieve domestic substitution.

As a vital link in the “front port-central zone-back city” development strategy, the High-Tech Zone remains steadfast in implementing the municipal Party committee's top-priority “port-driven city development” initiative, focusing on coordinated collaboration and multi-directional efforts.

It will continuously reinforce the clear orientation of “prioritizing major projects and pursuing large-scale initiatives,” focusing on the marine industry task list to tackle challenges in marine engineering equipment manufacturing and marine biomedicine. This will attract and cultivate high-quality projects and enterprise clusters highly synergistic with port-based economies, striving to form complementary and interactive industrial chains with the riverside sector.

We will continuously consolidate the foundation of our advantageous industries, such as high-end integrated equipment and precision optics. Leveraging the relatively concentrated innovation resources and solid industrial base in marine engineering equipment, we will drive local enterprises to upgrade their applications in marine-related fields. We will vigorously promote the swift implementation and production launch of new marine and river-related projects like Liwei.

Deeply implement the integrated concept of “port, industry, city, and people,” comprehensively consolidate existing agricultural, cultural, and tourism resources, fully unleash regional consumption vitality, continuously advance the upgrading of urban infrastructure and functional improvements, enrich all-age-friendly services including education, healthcare, tourism, and elderly care, and strive to build a modern, beautiful main city where river-sea ecology and urban quality harmoniously blend.
