Recently, the final set of T153 project components for the 13,000-cubic-meter ultra-large B-type cargo hold series, constructed by Nantong CIMC Pacific Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. for Guangzhou Shipyard International, was successfully loaded and shipped.
During the construction phase, the project team thoroughly reviewed the practical experience and technical insights gained from the first-of-its-kind project. They conducted multi-dimensional analysis and improvements across process optimization, equipment debugging, personnel operating standards, and quality control protocols. By refining welding parameters, introducing high-precision measuring instruments, and enhancing monitoring procedures, they successfully addressed challenges such as thin-plate welding deformation and precision control difficulties inherent in ultra-large projects. Following the completion of the B-type tank structure, the overall flatness of the shell plates was significantly enhanced, with substantial improvements in aesthetics and manufacturing precision. This achievement earned high praise and recognition from the owner, shipowner, and classification society.
With the successful delivery of the T153 project, CIMC Pacific Offshore has successfully completed the construction of two sets of 13,000-cubic-meter B-type cargo holds for Guangzhou Shipyard International. It is reported that CIMC Pacific Offshore has also commenced work on five sets of 7,500-cubic-meter B-type cargo holds in collaboration with the same partner. Both parties will continue to deepen their cooperation on B-type cargo hold projects.
