It will construct one 300,000-ton shipbuilding dock, one 200,000-ton outfitting wharf, and one 100,000-ton harbor pool, with an annual production capacity of approximately 800,000 deadweight tons. Currently, the preliminary procedures for the project are being comprehensively advanced, and it is expected to be completed and put into production by the end of 2026. After the project reaches its production capacity, the annual output value will be no less than 10 billion yuan, and the average annual comprehensive tax and fees will be no less than 300 million yuan.

Secretary Zhang Changping pointed out in his speech that Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group has always adhered to the principle of "building the world's best ships and being the world's best shipyard." It has achieved transformation and upgrading through innovation and improved its core competitiveness through refined management, making outstanding contributions to the economic and social development of the city. The newly signed project targets the new track of high-tech and high-value-added ships, becoming a pioneer and leader for domestic private enterprises to enter the large LNG ship construction market. He said that Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, as the only private enterprise in China to receive orders for 175,000 cubic meter ultra-large LNG carriers, is building a green high-tech clean energy shipbuilding project aimed at creating a world-class high-quality development demonstration area for clean energy gas carriers. Following the planning concept of intelligence and digitalization, it will promote a modern shipbuilding model and build a modern intelligent factory. The enterprise will introduce intelligent and digital production lines, accelerate the integration and application of 5G industrial internet and shipbuilding technology, and cultivate new productivity in the shipbuilding industry through digital, networked, and intelligent upgrades.

3 billion yuan investment! Yangzijiang Shipbuilding continues to cultivate the liquefied gas carrier market.

It is reported that Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group plans to invest approximately 3 billion yuan in capital expenditure in the next two years for the Yangzi Hongyuan Green High-tech Clean Energy Shipbuilding Base project. The group is currently conducting a feasibility study on the project.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding pointed out that the project site has a Yangtze River shoreline of approximately 1320 meters, providing a unique opportunity for efficient expansion. It is adjacent to the group's existing shipyard, Yangzi Xinfu, and enjoys a superior geographical location. This will enable the group to seamlessly integrate new facilities, thereby improving productivity and operational efficiency.

As China's largest private shipbuilding company, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group has been known for building three main types of ships: bulk carriers, tankers, and container ships. In recent years, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has continued to cultivate the liquefied gas carrier market. In 2022, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding obtained a patent cooperation agreement for the LNG MARK Ⅲ membrane containment system from GTT of France and received orders for the first batch of two 175,000 cubic meter LNG carriers, becoming the fourth domestic company and the first domestic private company to enter the large LNG carrier construction market.

Currently, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding's two 175,000 cubic meter LNG carriers are under construction at Yangzi Xinfu. At the same time, in May this year, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding received its first order for a very large ethane carrier (VLEC) from Singapore's SP Chemicals. These three 100,000 cubic meter VLECs, among the world's largest, will also be built at Yangzi Xinfu. With the order from SP Chemicals, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has also become the first private shipyard in China to build VLECs.

It is understood that as a backbone shipyard under Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, Yangzi Xinfu has giant dock facilities and is the main base for Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group to build large and medium-sized ships. The 400,000 deadweight ton ultra-large ore carrier (VLOC) and the 24,000 TEU ultra-large container ship, both among the world's largest, undertaken by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, were built by Yangzi Xinfu.

In addition to the large LNG carriers and VLECs built by Yangzi Xinfu, Clarkson's data shows that Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has as many as 17 medium-sized liquefied gas carriers under construction at its joint venture shipyard, Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding. These include nine 40,000 cubic meter, three 25,000 cubic meter, and two 48,000 cubic meter LPG carriers, as well as three 36,000 cubic meter liquefied ethylene (LEG)/LPG carriers.

Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding is strategically positioned to build high-end gas carriers. Established in 2019, it is jointly established by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding. It integrates Yangzijiang Shipbuilding's flexible system and cost control capabilities, Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding's advanced R&D design, quality management, and after-sales service, and Mitsui & Co.'s strong global sales advantages.

As of May 24 this year, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group's order backlog reached 193 vessels/7.45 million corrected gross tons, valued at US$16.08 billion (approximately RMB 116.451 billion), a further increase compared to 182 vessels and US$14.5 billion at the end of last year, setting a new historical high for order backlog. Among them, green energy vessels account for 61% of the value of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding's order backlog.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding currently has a backlog of orders covering 66 traditional/dual-fuel container ships totaling US$9.28 billion, 47 bulk carriers totaling US$1.88 billion, 22 LNG/LPG/LEG/VLEC vessels totaling US$2.09 billion, and 58 MR/LR1/LR2 tankers totaling US$2.83 billion. Delivery dates are scheduled through 2028.
