Guangzhou Shipyard International Deputy General Manager Zhou Xuhui signed the delivery documents on behalf of the company

On June 8, the 110,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel crude oil/product tanker No. 7, “PROTEUS INGRID”, built by Guangzhou Shipyard International, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, in cooperation with China Shipbuilding Trading, for BOCOM Leasing, was signed and delivered 24 days ahead of schedule. This is another significant achievement for Guangzhou Shipyard International in its sprint towards the “double over half” target.

It is understood that the 110,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel oil tankers for BOCOM Leasing were independently developed, designed, and built by Guangzhou Shipyard International. They are a customized “optimized and upgraded” version of LRⅡ type LNG dual-fuel oil tankers tailored by Guangzhou Shipyard International for BOCOM Leasing, with a total of 8 vessels ordered, and are the first batch of LNG dual-fuel product tankers built in South China.

The vessel adopts dual-fuel propulsion using fuel oil and LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and features large cargo capacity, high speed, low energy consumption, light empty weight, and strong adaptability. Its energy consumption indicators, environmental performance, and reliability have all reached the world's top level for the same vessel type.

This series of vessels is the first type designed by Guangzhou Shipyard International to meet the cybersecurity class requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). As the cybersecurity classification symbol was just introduced to the maritime industry, Guangzhou Shipyard International's technical team proactively acted, conducting in-depth research on relevant cybersecurity specifications, and, with the help and support of relevant class society surveyors, completed this certification together with equipment manufacturers.

It is reported that the vessel undocked in early January 2023. All participating departments cooperated closely, overcoming the Spring Festival effect, and ultimately achieved a “two-in-one” trial voyage in oil and gas mode 5 days ahead of schedule, reaching completion status in May, and significantly shortening the dockside period compared to similar vessels.
