On February 23, the second newly built 1900TEU container ship, "ASL PEONY," built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group Corporation, for CSSC Leasing, was successfully delivered. CSSC Leasing Chairman Zhong Jian and Vice General Manager Teng Fei attended the ceremony, and Ms. Yang Xueqing, the godmother, named the vessel.

This vessel is of Huangpu Wenchong's independently designed "Hong Hu" series. It is 172 meters long, 27.5 meters wide, 14.6 meters deep, with a design draft of 8.5 meters and a design speed of 18.5 knots. The cargo hold can accommodate 5 tiers and 10 rows of standard containers, and the deck can stack 7 tiers and 11 rows of standard containers. The nominal container capacity is 1930TEU, with a capacity of 1350TEU for 14-ton heavy containers. The full load deadweight is 24300 tons. The vessel design has broad market adaptability and, compared to other similar products, boasts lower fuel consumption and better market prospects.

On October 14 last year, Huangpu Wenchong delivered the first 1900TEU container ship (H2427), "ASL BAUHINIA," built for CSSC Leasing. The "ASL PEONY" is identical to its sister ship, "ASL BAUHINIA." Both are financed by CSSC Leasing and chartered by SL Shipping, Limited (a joint venture between CSSC Leasing and Asia Maritime Shipping). They utilize Huangpu Wenchong's independently developed fourth-generation 1900TEU "Bangkok Max" container ship design, one of the most typical container ship types in Asian regional trade.
