On September 29, two 2200-car capacity automobile carriers built by China Shipbuilding Wuhan Shipbuilding Industry Corporation for Anji Shipping Co., Ltd. were named and delivered. The ceremony was presided over by Wang Guanghai, Party Secretary of North Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, with speeches given by Chen Zhuang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Wuhan Shipbuilding Group, and Wang Zeming, Chairman of Anji Shipping, who also signed the delivery agreement. Ms. Gu Xiaoqiong, General Manager of the Financial Management Department of SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, named the two ships "Anji 31" and "Anji 32", respectively, and cut the cables for the two ships with the accompaniment of Chen Zhuang and Wang Zeming.

It is understood that the 2200-car capacity automobile carrier has an overall length of 141.2m, a molded breadth of 24.4m, a design draft of 6.0m, and a structural draft of 6.6m. It is a vehicle carrier driven by a single engine, single propeller, and diesel engine, operating in domestic coastal waters, capable of carrying various small cars, trucks, buses, and other vehicles. The ship features a bulbous bow, bow thruster, square stern, and streamlined semi-balanced rudder, with two stern door ramps and nine vehicle decks. This type of ship has been comprehensively optimized and upgraded compared to the previous generation of similar ships in terms of loading capacity, power configuration, energy saving and drag reduction, lightweight design, comfort, maneuverability, and appearance, resulting in more economical and efficient operation, and safer, greener, and more intelligent navigation.

The construction of this ship marks North Shipbuilding Heavy Industry's first foray into the field of automobile carrier construction. North Shipbuilding Heavy Industry established a professional project management team, coordinating resources from all parties, achieving "integrated design, production, and management." They overcame technical difficulties such as controlling the deformation of ultra-thin vehicle decks, installing stern door ramps, and installing movable decks. Particularly during product modifications, they completed the closure of sea trial opinions and modifications to cargo hold wind ducts, vehicle compartment lashing and hanging rod optimization, and engine room layout adjustments in just two months, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of the ship, which has been highly recognized by the ship owner.

Relevant leaders from SAIC Motor, SAIC Anji Logistics, Anji Shipping, Shuangxi Maritime, Shanghai Shipyard Design & Research Institute, China Classification Society, Wuhan Shipbuilding Group, and North Shipbuilding Heavy Industry attended the ceremony.
