On the morning of June 28, Huizhou EVE Energy Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Hanshun Shipping Co., Ltd. signed the "New Hybrid Electric Propulsion Bulk Carrier Project Cooperation Agreement," marking the official launch of the world's first batch of 5000-ton new energy bulk carriers (Diamond 5K series) project.

This project set three world "largest" records: the world's largest batch of new energy bulk carriers, totaling 18 vessels; the world's largest single new energy bulk carrier, reaching 5400 tons; and the world's largest river-sea intermodal new energy bulk carrier fleet. All these new energy vessels will be powered by EVE Energy's battery systems.

These new energy vessels can achieve zero emissions when entering, berthing, and leaving port. They also feature shore power fast charging, hybrid propulsion for daily cruising, and vessel intelligence. Compared to ordinary commercial vessels of the same type, operating costs can be reduced by 30%, making them the main development trend for green electrification of large commercial vessels both now and in the future.

According to the agreement, based on leveraging each other's strengths and complementing advantages, EVE Energy will assist Shanghai Hanshun in completing the design, production, installation, commissioning, inspection, technical support, and after-sales service of the battery system for this project, providing the optimal battery system solution for Shanghai Hanshun's new hybrid electric propulsion bulk carriers. At the same time, EVE Energy will utilize its advantages in new energy vessel battery system solutions to align with Shanghai Hanshun's technical and economic applicability requirements for battery systems in vessel services. Both parties will jointly promote the development of vessel electrification, providing Shanghai Hanshun with green, efficient, and energy-saving battery system solutions, creating technological and economic advantages.

Shao Qiang, Director of Shanghai Hanshun Shipping, stated: "Currently, over 90% of global cargo vessels use diesel engines as their power source. With the development of diesel engine technology, emissions when vessels are in optimal cruising conditions are within a controllable range. However, when vessels are navigating at low speeds entering or leaving ports, or when berthed, they are in non-optimal combustion or high-emission operating conditions. The resulting harmful gases, particulate matter, and noise pollution are increasingly severe, causing significant impact on the aquatic ecological environment. Furthermore, as cities develop and expand, the locations where these conditions occur are getting closer to residential centers. Therefore, hybrid oil-electric new energy vessels with low energy consumption, low emissions, and high environmental protection are an important path to achieve energy saving and emission reduction while meeting high endurance requirements."

Li Jiang, Executive Director of Shanghai Hanshun Shipping, stated: "Developing hybrid oil-electric new energy vessels with low energy consumption, low emissions, and high environmental protection is an important path to achieve energy saving and emission reduction while meeting high endurance requirements. This project for 18 5000-ton new energy bulk carriers serves as a demonstration for the electrification of large commercial vessels in China's main waterways."

In the marine power battery market, EVE Energy has achieved excellent results. Liu Jincheng, Chairman and President of EVE Energy, stated: "As ports get closer to cities and to residential centers, to reduce the pollution impact on nearshore waters and residents, and to practice the concept that 'lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,' EVE Energy actively promotes technological innovation in marine power lithium batteries and power systems, pushing for the 'oil-to-electric' conversion of vessels and the replacement of lead-acid batteries with lithium batteries in many parts of the country, striving tirelessly for our nation's green and beautiful environment."
