Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding's double-ship delivery concludes successfully

2017-02-15 09:00

On the second day back to work after the holiday, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (Location Comments News) reported good news. At 11:00 am on February 13, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding successfully delivered the last two 180,000-ton Capesize bulk carriers, "Golden SURABAYA" and "Golden SAVANNAH," built for Frontline Ltd. The delivery of the two large ships further consolidated Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding's position as the "world's Capesize bulk carrier construction center" and sounded the spring drum for achieving the 2017 delivery and production targets.

Mr. JS. Naren, Newbuilding Project Manager of Frontline; Ms. Zhang Dalei, Deputy General Manager of the European Region of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation; and Mr. Ye Jie, Assistant to the Minister of Marketing Department of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, signed the delivery documents on behalf of their respective parties. Mr. Wu Yongjun, Director of Production of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding; Mr. Saha, Frontline's resident manager; Mr. Shao Ruquan, Chief Registrar of the Hong Kong Maritime Department; and other guests attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.

The delivery of these two ships was completed under exceptionally severe market conditions and stringent requirements from the ship owner. This achievement is attributed to the company's leadership's correct planning and overall deployment of the annual business strategy, and is inseparable from the efficient execution of employees from all departments. Before the Spring Festival holiday, the company pre-allocated relevant resources on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to ensure sufficient manpower and material resources before and after the festival to guarantee the smooth operation of equipment debugging, certificate preparation, and spare parts delivery for the delivery. This fully reflects the company's unity and determination to carry out "a second entrepreneurship" around the company's 2017 management theme of "restructuring and stabilization".

Ships H1331 and H1332 are the last two 180,000-ton Capesize bulk carriers built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for Frontline, named "Golden SURABAYA" and "Golden SAVANNAH." The names reflect the shipowner's affirmation of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding's consistent commitment to building high-quality products, and also convey the hope that these two sister ships will set sail in the year of the Rooster and create economic benefits for the shipowner. The simultaneous delivery of the two ships marks the successful completion of the order for fourteen bulk carriers between Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and Frontline.

It is reported that H1331 and H1332 will soon leave Waigaoqiao and Changxing Heavy Industry Wharf to begin their golden voyage.
