CSIC's Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute, China Shipbuilding Industry System Engineering Research Institute, and CSIC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement on "smart ships" in Shanghai. Wu Yongjie, Deputy General Manager of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, attended the signing ceremony and pointed out that carrying out industrial innovation in emerging fields represented by "smart ships" is of great practical significance for CSIC to enhance its industrial competitiveness and promote transformation and upgrading.

According to the agreement, the three units agreed to establish a strategic cooperative relationship in the field of "smart ships." In the future, the three parties will work together in the field of "smart ships", jointly promoting exploration and practice in ship overall design, system integration, core equipment matching, and ship assembly and construction, providing users in the shipbuilding industry with services such as intelligent construction, operation, maintenance, support, scheduling, and management. Among them, Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute is mainly responsible for overall design, the institute's system institute is mainly responsible for system integration, and Huangpu Wenchong is mainly responsible for final assembly and construction.

Wu Yongjie said at the signing ceremony that the signing of the "smart ship" strategic cooperation agreement by the three parties is consistent with the spirit of CSIC's proposal last year to build a three-in-one overall research and development capability and system research and development capability, and core equipment research and development capability, which are three core military industrial capabilities. This is an exploration in a forward-looking field, conforms to the future development trend of the shipbuilding industry, and fits CSIC's strategic direction for transformation and development. He hopes that the three parties will cooperate deeply in the future, give full play to their respective advantages, and work together to achieve results and breakthroughs in cutting-edge and forward-looking research, jointly promoting the promotion and application of related technologies and products of "smart ships" in the shipbuilding field, serving CSIC's industrial transformation and upgrading and leapfrog development, enhancing CSIC's overall market competitiveness, and playing a demonstration and leading role in CSIC and the entire industry.

It is understood that in May this year, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, the world's second-largest shipbuilding company, and SK Telecom (SKT), South Korea's largest mobile operator, jointly developed a "smart ship" based on information and communication technology (ICT). Navigation ( Product Library Purchase Request   Supply ) and Monitoring ( Product Library   Purchase Request   Supply ) systems, and all onboard services will be integrated into a single network.

According to the signed agreement, SK Telecom will provide guidance on information and communication technology, optimize blueprints, and research and development resources, and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering will promote the research results related to "smart ships" required by ship owners.
