South Korean shipbuilding and marine equipment industry enters Chinese market

The Korea Marine Equipment Global Support Center (KOMEC) held a joint meeting on November 11th for Korean exhibitors and individual participating companies at the 2013 China International Maritime Technology Academic Conference and Exhibition (Marintec China 2013).

Marintec China 2013, held in Shanghai from December 3rd to 5th, is the world's largest exhibition in the shipbuilding, marine, and ship parts sectors, taking place in China, a global shipbuilding powerhouse.

As a technologically advanced nation geographically close to China, South Korea's participation in marketing activities at this event is essential for entering the vast Chinese market. Marintec China 2013 focuses on actual transactions, meaning Korean companies can expect a direct impact on their export performance. KOMEC, which has operated the Korean pavilion since 1999, has seen its size grow significantly each year. This year, 31 Korean companies are participating, making it the largest Korean exhibition abroad.
