Cyprus shipowner FrontMarine recently ordered environmentally friendly design Handysize bulk carriers from an anonymous Chinese shipyard. A total of four 58,300 DWT bulk carriers are under construction at a civilian shipyard, with delivery scheduled to begin in mid-2015. The price of the new ships was not disclosed, but the contract includes an option for additional orders. Some media outlets have identified the shipyard as Jiangsu New Era Shipbuilding.

FrontMarine stated that these vessels incorporate an innovative design without a bulbous bow, which results in fuel savings. In addition, these new bulk carriers will be classed by Germanischer Lloyd and will be equipped with four cranes with a maximum lifting capacity of 35 tons.
