Guangzhou Guangzhou International Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, signed its first contract with Switzerland's TRAFIGURA for the construction of chemical/refined oil tankers.

On May 15, Guangzhou Guangzhou International Co., Ltd. received an order from Switzerland's TRAFIGURA for 4+4 50,000-ton deadweight chemical/refined oil tankers.

Four contracts have taken effect, while the other four optional orders, in two batches of two, will be activated by the shipowner in July and September this year, respectively.

This is the largest order of tankers received by Guangzhou International this year, and also the largest tanker order received by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation this year.

The signing of this order will have a positive impact on the current market, expanding the market recognition and influence of CSIC and Guangzhou International, and will also positively promote Guangzhou International's subsequent order acquisition and increase its market share in the MR-type refined oil tanker market.

TRAFIGURA is a high-quality client newly developed by Guangzhou International in 2013, following the business philosophy of "major clients, good clients, and old clients." Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the company focuses on the trading of fuel and metal raw materials. Its shipping department manages more than 40 vessels, with daily charter utilization of oil tankers exceeding 30. For long-term development, the company is planning to acquire industrial assets such as mines and develop its own fleet. This shipbuilding order at Guangzhou International is part of its strategic development plan.

In addition, the company plans to order four ULTRAMAX bulk carriers and is actively negotiating with Guangzhou International.
